About
I have a diverse range of theoretical interests (autobiography studies, multiple modernities, post-colonial theory) which emerge from my knowledge and interests in Tibetan intellectual history and Sino-Tibetan relations. I am particularly fascinated by the role of religious practice and ritual in identity construction, especially in "cross-roads" areas, such as on the Sino-Tibetan frontier of today's Qinghai and Gansu provinces, the meeting point of Mongolian, Manchu, Turkic, Tibetan and Chinese cultures.
